CyBC is a music and movement curriculum in Spanish for children 0-5 and their adult caregivers. It is designed to be accessible to all families, regardless of native language, musical background, ethnicity, age or ability level.

Every family will receive our beautiful full-color Family Songbook with accompanying music in CD and digital download form. Each family receives a set of these materials every semester, so that the learning and grooving can continue at home. In addition, enrolled families have access to a Member Portal on our website, which contains additional family support materials, like videos and ideas for play, as well as fun “extras” for kids.

Canta y Baila Conmigo is a family class, and everyone in the family is welcome! We ask that you register your first and second child who will be attending the class. Babies 9 months or younger or third siblings are free. Only one family materials fee will be charged per family per semester.

Yes! We'd be delighted to have you join us for a free trial class. We just request that you email us (linguallearners@outlook.com) before the day you are coming with your name, the names and ages of your children and what date you will be there.

Of course! We welcome nannies, grandparents, uncles, aunties, daddies and mommies. The class is “for children 0-5 and the adults who love them”.

This class depends on the grown-ups’ participation. They are the ones who model making music and using the language by following the teacher's lead. Adults also model an attitude that is positive, cooperative and open to new things. Seeing adults enjoy themselves in class will seal the deal! Of course, your #1 job is to be there for and with your child, sharing the class experience and making memories to last a lifetime.

Both language and music have basic developmental “paths” that children follow as they grow and learn. However, the age at which they master each skill is different for each child. Babies and 5 year olds in general will each “get” something different from the class. We feel that learning together, as a community, is the best way to strengthen music, language and social skills.

Young brains are incredibly flexible, so children usually catch on much more quickly than their grown-ups! Age birth through 5 is the perfect time to expose your child to a second or third language. In fact, experts agree that the earlier the better for bilingual development. You may notice your child using Spanish words together with their English words. This is not confusion, but instead the sign of a smart, busy mind at work!

Non-Spanish speakers quickly catch on, because the language in class is natural, interactive, and used in context. In addition, music is a universal language! Teachers actively engage participants through the music, regardless of each family’s level of Spanish. Lastly, the take-home materials offer translations and other English language supports for families learning Spanish.

Young children, regardless of their home language, are in the process of developing language skills. CyBC teachers use structured immersion techniques, which allow them to use natural, whole language while including all participants. Native speakers do not feel that the language is beginner-level or simplified. In fact, Spanish-speaking families across the country find that CyBC is a great support to them in achieving language maintenance at home.

Many programs teach vocabulary using songs. We pride ourselves in teaching language through music. We take music education seriously, and we present it in the context of language immersion. Children and adults learn language naturally and organically through the music activities, song lyrics, and the interactions in class.

CyBC is a Spanish language and culture program with dual, complementary goals of music development and Spanish acquisition. It is both a music class in Spanish and a language immersion class that introduces the Spanish language through the musical traditions of Spanish-speaking countries.

No, we welcome anyone who is interested in a Spanish immersion environment. Canta y Baila Conmigo is being offered as a part of our larger program, but is open to to anyone who is interested, regardless of their school choice. Many of our families have older children in our homeschool program, but we are open to all families.
